LCC EDUCATION FUND

Fund Description:

In memory of Walt Simonson, the Lutheran Church of the Cross Education Fund was started in 2007 out of respect for education and to the glory of God. The fund is designed as a perpetual fund and accepts special gifts. Direct gifts must be made to the fund and not to an individual student. As a perpetual fund, the level of each scholarship is based on the level of the fund and the decision of the Education Fund Committee.

Application Criteria:

  1. Applicants must be members in good standing of Lutheran Church of the Cross for at least one year.
  2. This scholarship is available to full-time undergraduate students but not to students enrolled under Post Secondary Enrollment Option (PSEO).
  3. Students must be pursuing their higher education or training in an accredited vocational program or in a private or public college.
  4. Awards will be based on church and school/community volunteerism and commitment to future service. Financial need is not a requirement.
  5. Awards will be announced in May.
  6. Payment of award is made directly to the school upon completion of the first academic period following the award. Student must have successfully completed the period with a 2.00 ("C") grade point average and be enrolled for the following period. Payment will be made directly to the school.
  7. Applications must be received by April 30th of the year awarded.

Students may apply by completing the application and submitting it the Lutheran Church of the Cross Education Fund Committee. Completed applications may be delivered to the church office or mailed to Lutheran Church of the Cross Education Fund Committee, P.O. Box 29, Nisswa, Minnesota 56468.
