A MEMORIAL GARDEN
Photos and more photos

Our Memorial Garden offers
an outdoor setting for christian fellowship
and a quiet sanctuary for rest, reflection,
and remembering loved ones

Our Memorial Garden--with its Memorial Wall, its first columbarium of 50 niches, a large hand-hewn cross, a variety of trees and flowers, an entrance boulder, paved paths, six benches, a picnic table and an irrigation system--continues to grow. A fire pit and outdoor sound system have recently been added, and the next 50 niches will be installed yet this fall. For more information, you may pick up a brochure from the Memorial Garden table or contact the church office.

By mid-May 2008, 36 niches and 25 memorial wall plaques have been purchased. More are available at these prices -- a single niche holding one urn costs $880 and a double niche holding two urns costs $1100. Those figures include a professionally engraved polished granite faceplace and one or two polished bronze urns. The niche's location can be selected at the time of purchase.

One may also place a professionally engraved polished granite plaque in the Memorial Wall. That installation costs $150. You may examine sample niches and granite facings in the church lobby, along with photos and brochures.

If you'd like to schedule an event or activity in the Memorial Garden, please contact a member of the Board for scheduling and to insure that the event (or planting) is in keeping with the intended use of the garden.

We thank Jon Aga (the 15-year-old son of Jeff and Sarah Aga) who, for an Eagle Scout project, built the pergola over the picnic area. And also the family of Cole Maier, who constructed the fire pit in his memory.

The church council has approved usage policies for the columbarium and appointed a three-person Memorial Garden and Columbarium Board to administer the entire project. Its members are Wes Anderson, Sharon Ingvoldstad and Claudette Tollefsrud.
