Supper Club 2012
Our church Supper Club is once again in operation. We formed new groups in October, started the dinners then and finish sometime the new year. If you are interested in participating, please call Kate and Dick Carlson at 218.746.4416 or Marilyn and Jim Cramer at 218.829.4991. This has been a great way to meet new friends. We hope you will consider participating so more people will have the opportunity to meet you.
Community Garden - Come and Grow With Us
Our Creation Care Team invites you to use the community garden in the northwest corner of our property, partly financed by a mini-grant of $7,500 from SHIP (the Statewide Health Improvement Program). Its purpose is to provide gardening space to grow fresh produce for the people in our community.
The plot is 70 x 100 feet and has 40 to 50 raised 4 x 8-foot beds. It is enclosed by a 10-foot (DNR approved) deer fence. Soil and water are provided. There will be a small fee to rent a plot for the season.
For more information, talk to Laura Raedeke, Debbie Rottschafer, Deb Roberts, Emelie Augustine, Carolyn Blanck, Carolyn Macy, Barb Peterson or Marjorie Holmstrom.
Another way to contribute
LCC members have sometimes made contributions in the form of stock shares. If you wish to do so in the future, please click here for a form you may use to do so. Thank you.

Our coordinators in this enterprise have included Keith Both (transportation), Ron and Sandy Thorson (evening meal), JoAnne Dayton (breakfast), Kate Carlson (activities), Dick Peterson (overnight hosts), Deb Roberts (evening hosts) and Christa and Harold Krause (set-up and take-down). We need as many as 70 volunteers so please call the church office to help.

Kinship Partners is a program that enables individuals, coouples and even families to mentor a child. Though it has been active in the Brainerd Lakes area since 1986, presently there are about 60 children between ages 5 and 15 who are waiting for an adult mentor. If you can spare a couple hours a week for this rewarding activity, please call 829-4606 iin Brainerd (568-4015 in Pequot Lakes) and join a discussion in Chapel Hall at 9:30 on Sunday morning, February 12th.
Likewise, if you would like to provide occasional relief to an over-taxed care giver, call the Lutheran Social Services respite service center in Crosslake at 218/692-1964.
