OUTREACH 

Outreach at LCC seeks to channel our members' energies and resources toward serving the larger community beyond the membership of Lutheran Church of the Cross.It invites people to support these ministries. You can get involved by contactingthe church office, to be connected with the appropriate chairperson.

• LCC serves as a host church for the Interfaith Hospitality Network. We host homeless families for a week about four times a year. Volunteers are always welcome and needed for this project.


• We are a part of the Sharing Bread Soup Kitchen in Brainerd, where about 40 meals are served every evening at Temple Baptist Church. Different groups from our congregation -- including youth and the church council -- serve the meal the first Thursday of every month from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Please call Ann Bergin (963-7303), who coordinates our part of this important program, to offer your help.


• We are affiliated with the Lakes Area Food Shelf located south of Pequot Lakes. We contribute food and cash, with Angie Rardin serving as our board representative. Every March we hold a drive to help support the Food Shelf.


• We support the Lakes Area Habitat For Humanity.


• Helping Hands is a new ministry that provides basic hygiene items for middle and high school students in Brainerd and Pequot Lakes. Donations are accepted at church to keep a stock of basic items at each of the schools.


• Prayer Shawl and more ministry makes beautiful creations to share with those in grief, illness, as well as newborn caps, etc.


• Hotdish ministry provides warm meals to people in times of distress or illness.
